6 weeks already!?!

Tyrus 02/02/07

Tegan 08/25/09

Tyrus (about) 5 weeks

Tegan 6 weeks

I can't believe it has already been six weeks...how time flies. So originally I thought Tegan looked nothing like Tyrus...well I looked at old pics of Ty and they do look a lot alike...I think it is the hair color that threw me off. At Tegans 2 week appoint he had already gained 2 pounds. The doc said I must be making cream because usually babies gain 1/2 ounce to an ounce a day...but 2 ounces a day...insane!

Here are a few pics of my boys (Tyrus is 2- and 8 months-so almost 3). Enjoy!

Tegan Evern Tharp

Aug 25, 2009 5:31 pm 7 lbs 2 oz 21"

Well here he is. He made it! This is going to be a long post cause I thought I would "tell the story" of how/what/when/where etc. So as you know my last post I cancelled my induction for the 25th (my due date). So Tuesday morning (the 25th) I woke up at about 4:00 am, went to the bathroom about 4 times in 5 minutes...so naturally I thought my water had broken. Finally at about 5:30 (and crying for an hour) I told James to get ready to go. We dropped Ty off at my moms and headed to the hospital. Of course the traffic sucked (and by the way if you see someone driving like a crazy person, don't judge, they may have their pregnant wife in labor in the passenger seat). We get to the hospital at 7:00 which in hospital time is "perfect" cause they are doing shift changes. Anyway, they got me to the room and checked me and I was at about a 4 1/2, (by the way, my water had not broken). So the nurse told us to wait and hour and see and she would call the doctor to see what she wanted to do. So I get to about a 5 and they decide to keep me. They move me to a delivery room and the waiting game starts. The nurse comes in and asks me if I want an epidural and I said YES! (which by the way epidurals make me sick and I got the joy and pleasure of puking until they gave me something for nausea). At about 9:45 my water starts leaking, but the waiting game continues. Then a doctor comes in (no not mine of course) and tells me that my doc is having issues and won't be delivering me (story of my life...basically the same thing happened with Tyrus, though she gave me about a months notice...nice!). Anyway then another doctor comes in and tells me if my water has not finished breaking by about 12:30 she would do break it the rest of the way. She comes in at 12:30 and checks me (I was about a 6) and says that Tegan was still floating so she didn't want to break my water just yet in case the cord came out first. So then at about 4:00 the nurse checked me and I was at a 7 and when she checked me it broke my water all the way! So she said got the delivery stuff ready, cause it would go fast after my water had broken. At about 4:30 she called the doctor cause I was at a 10...and we waited, again. I told the nurse that the baby was coming so she checked me and said, "ya, just keep your legs closed". WHAT?! That was about the craziest thing I had ever heard. The doc (a different one from the 2 others I saw that day) showed up at about 10 after 5. I pushed for about 15 min or so and he was out! I got to hold him as soon as James cut the cord, two things that we never got to do with Tyrus. It was so wonderful. So here he is! We are so happy to have him here, and I guess my doc must have known something cause he came on his due date!

Baby update!

I am getting closer...to start off I wanted to let everyone know my doc had an appointment for me to be induced on Tues (the 25th--my due date)...and I cancelled it this morning! I know, I know I am crazy but I just am not feeling it, sorry. I REALLY want my baby to come when he is ready. I was induced a week late with Tyrus and if I could go back I would not have done it. I don't think he was ready...and I didn't get to even see him until like 12 hours after I had him...not my idea of a good time. Anywho....so ya!
I am 80% efaced and just over a 2 (dialated). I am ready to have this baby, trust me, but I don't want to push it (I mean I do, but not yet).

Tyrus has been better about sleeping in his bed, so I am thrilled about that. I hope it sticks when the baby comes...so we will see.

Sorry this is a super lame post...hopefully I will have something more to say (and pics to show) soon.

Seriously...

Ok, ok. So I am the worst blogger ever. I really have been wanting to update, but I usually only have a few seconds before Tyrus gets into something he shouldn't. He is asleep now so I figure why not. Life has been crazy lately. Wednesday I woke up at 3 (yes a.m.) with contractions galore. Finally after timing them for what seemed like an eternity we went to the hospital at 6. So the contractions continued, but after 4 hours I had not dialated any more (I am only at a 2), so they said the only thing they could do was give me a shot of morphine and send me home (cause I am only 37 weeks). How rude! I didn't want a shot of morphine, I wanted a baby. Anyway so basically I am still pregnant! I really want my baby here, but my doc will be out of town for the next week, so not til after that. But he needs to come soon cause I have already gained 45 freakin pounds (which is 10 more than with Tyrus).

On another note, Tyrus has stopped sleeping in our bed...yeah!!!...but he is on our floor. So this week I am going to try to get him to actually sleep in his own bed. We told him if he does we will buy him Mario Kart (cause that is all he talks about...telling people in the store "Mario Kart Dallin", like they even know what he is saying...anyway). So hopefully I will have a chance to update and let you know how it goes...before the baby comes.

p.s. we are still not sure on a name

It's a...

Well, the moment of truth...For the last 20 weeks I have been determined I was having a girl. My whole pregnancy has been different so I thought for sure. Well I was WRONG! It's a BOY!!! I am so excited. In my little head I have plans for bunk beds (I know a long ways away...but still). I can't even believe it. I am still in shock! I will never try and guess what my baby is again. James was so hoping for a girl, "so we could be done". But I knew we weren't done, and obviously so did the Lord. I told James that this is Heavenly Fathers way of saying, 'you are not done'. I am so grateful for Tyrus and this new baby on the way. James told our neighbor I was pregnant and she said, "What! I thought Tyrus was your miracle baby?!" Well we are so lucky to have another miracle, and it has been! It has been a tough road but a very rewarding one.
The only problem we are having now is finding a name. We have a million girl names but no boy ones...any suggestions???

Calling all stay at home moms!!!

Well it has happened...my dreams I mean! I am finally a stay at home mom. I don't think it has sunk in yet. It is so wonderful. I am so thankful to my wonderful husband for having the faith to just do it! Now my next question...what do all you stay at home moms do? I feel like I have been cleaning my house everyday for weeks. Is that really what this is all about? (Not that I am complaining) I just would like to know a way to keep my house clean so I can spend quality time with Tyrus...(especially before the baby comes) and not watch movies all day...is that normal? Anyway...if anyone has any suggestions that would be awesome!

Great news!

Well if you haven't heard...the news is out! We are going to have another baby. We are so thrilled! I am miserable, which is good. We are due Aug 25th. I have already had 4 ultra sounds (high risk) and the baby looks great. It has been so fun to see the baby grow. It is amazing how much they grow in 1 weeks time. I really wanted to post pics of our ultra sounds, but of course our scanner isn't working. Hopefully it will be working soon and I will post them.

I know it has been forever since I have posted...between working two jobs, being a mom to a busy boy and being VERY sick, I have not been so good at it. I am hoping to keep up on it better. I know I still need to post Christmas pics, just trying to find the time. It is amazing your new goals when another baby is on the way...organize rooms, catch up on scrapbooking, potty train...all that fun stuff. Anyway, I will hopefully post again soon.
