the funny things Tyrus does

So the other day I was washing my hands and James came in and smacked my butt and said, "hi mom" so what does Tyrus do...the exact same thing, smacks me on the butt and says, "hi mom" I still giggle about it.

pics of the boys

Tyrus just turned three so I decided to take some pictures of him.

I added this pic cause you can see his eyelashes so well, I just love them!

Tegan just turned six months...here are some pics of him.

This is Tegan's blessing outfit...I can't believe it still fits. He was blessed on Nov 1st.

New Year's Resolutions

Here are just a few random pictures I took yesterday. Tegan is now 4 months old...how time flies. He is my chunker that is for sure. At his 4 month appointment (12/28) he weighed 16 lbs 3 oz and was 25 1/4 inches long. Tyrus at 4 months was 14 lbs 9 oz and 25 1/2 inches long. Tegan is just a bigger kid, but eats way less than Tyrus did. It amazes me how different they are. Tyrus just loves his brother...a little too much at times. He always wants to kiss him and talk to him. Tegan is also sitting up, with help, and it such a giggler. It is so fun to have kids.
So I have a few New Year's Resolutions...which some say is super lame, cause really do you ever keep up on them. Well I am seriously going to try. One of them is to blog more. So I have tried to make it a reasonable amount...once a week. We will see how it goes.
Also I am trying to cook a new meal every day. A few months ago I cleaned out my cupboard full of recipes (what a mess) and I decided it is time to start trying some of them, cause if I don't like them, I am throwing them out, I am sick of the mess. I have found quite a few good ones. I think there has only been maybe one that I probably wouldn't do again. I have so many cookbooks it is insane.
The next one is to deep clean my whole house every six months. So it has began. On Saturday James and I cleaned the car and then cleaned one of our bathrooms. And when I say deep clean, I mean it. Like take everything out that is possible to take out and clean from ceiling to floor, including walls. I even washed the shower curtain.
I also want to scrapbook more. While my sister was out of school for Christmas she came over everyday and we scrapbooked. It was so fun. I am hoping to keep up on it better, since I am currently scrapbooking baby showers from before Tyrus was born. For my birthday I got tons of new stamp sets, so I am hoping that will get me to get going on it.
One goal that I am particularly excited about is going on a date with James once a week. Last week we went to see Blindside (good movie by the way). It was so great to get out. Tyrus got to play at his cousins house and he didn't want to leave (they didn't want him to go either). Tegan went with us, and was an angel, slept through the whole movie. So we will see what this week brings.
Another one I am excited about, is I am trying to grow closer to my Savior. James and I have been reading our scriptures every night for over a month, it has been so great. Some nights we talk and discuss scripture for hours. It has been such a great time to learn and grow.
Anyway...this is a super long post, sorry. It has been ages since I blogged. Thanks to everyone for the Christmas gifts, wishes and treats. We love you all.

6 weeks already!?!

Tyrus 02/02/07

Tegan 08/25/09

Tyrus (about) 5 weeks

Tegan 6 weeks

I can't believe it has already been six weeks...how time flies. So originally I thought Tegan looked nothing like Tyrus...well I looked at old pics of Ty and they do look a lot alike...I think it is the hair color that threw me off. At Tegans 2 week appoint he had already gained 2 pounds. The doc said I must be making cream because usually babies gain 1/2 ounce to an ounce a day...but 2 ounces a day...insane!

Here are a few pics of my boys (Tyrus is 2- and 8 months-so almost 3). Enjoy!

Tegan Evern Tharp

Aug 25, 2009 5:31 pm 7 lbs 2 oz 21"

Well here he is. He made it! This is going to be a long post cause I thought I would "tell the story" of how/what/when/where etc. So as you know my last post I cancelled my induction for the 25th (my due date). So Tuesday morning (the 25th) I woke up at about 4:00 am, went to the bathroom about 4 times in 5 minutes...so naturally I thought my water had broken. Finally at about 5:30 (and crying for an hour) I told James to get ready to go. We dropped Ty off at my moms and headed to the hospital. Of course the traffic sucked (and by the way if you see someone driving like a crazy person, don't judge, they may have their pregnant wife in labor in the passenger seat). We get to the hospital at 7:00 which in hospital time is "perfect" cause they are doing shift changes. Anyway, they got me to the room and checked me and I was at about a 4 1/2, (by the way, my water had not broken). So the nurse told us to wait and hour and see and she would call the doctor to see what she wanted to do. So I get to about a 5 and they decide to keep me. They move me to a delivery room and the waiting game starts. The nurse comes in and asks me if I want an epidural and I said YES! (which by the way epidurals make me sick and I got the joy and pleasure of puking until they gave me something for nausea). At about 9:45 my water starts leaking, but the waiting game continues. Then a doctor comes in (no not mine of course) and tells me that my doc is having issues and won't be delivering me (story of my life...basically the same thing happened with Tyrus, though she gave me about a months notice...nice!). Anyway then another doctor comes in and tells me if my water has not finished breaking by about 12:30 she would do break it the rest of the way. She comes in at 12:30 and checks me (I was about a 6) and says that Tegan was still floating so she didn't want to break my water just yet in case the cord came out first. So then at about 4:00 the nurse checked me and I was at a 7 and when she checked me it broke my water all the way! So she said got the delivery stuff ready, cause it would go fast after my water had broken. At about 4:30 she called the doctor cause I was at a 10...and we waited, again. I told the nurse that the baby was coming so she checked me and said, "ya, just keep your legs closed". WHAT?! That was about the craziest thing I had ever heard. The doc (a different one from the 2 others I saw that day) showed up at about 10 after 5. I pushed for about 15 min or so and he was out! I got to hold him as soon as James cut the cord, two things that we never got to do with Tyrus. It was so wonderful. So here he is! We are so happy to have him here, and I guess my doc must have known something cause he came on his due date!
